Many clothes are deemed, “only for women” or, “only for
men.” There are, however, some clothes or accessories that both men and women
can wear and look fashionable in. But in order for them to be worn by both
sexes, the clothes and accessories will need to be chosen carefully, paying
attention to color and style. Pay attention to these tips and learn to wear the
styles designed for both genders.
Shirts
If you need to purchase a button up shirt for a work
function or any other occasion, you can purchase one no matter what gender the
shirt is manufactured for. In more
recent years it has become acceptable for men to wear pink, which was
originally deemed a “girly” color. Because of this, your choices won’t be
limited to just one gender’s section when you’re looking for a button up
shirt. You can also find many places
that sell unisex T-shirts or V-neck shirts. This type of shirt looks the same
for both male and female and the only difference is the size.
Scarves
There are many scarves for women that would simply not look
right when worn on a man. Conversely, there are just as many scarves for men
that would not look natural draped around a woman’s neck. There are, however,
many unisex scarves that can look natural on both men and women. The trick to
finding the right one is going for neutral colors and patterns. Scarves for
women tend to be made in pastel colors with flowery designs which obviously won’t
work as scarves for men. If you can find tan, brown or black then both a man
and woman can wear the same scarf. The scarf can have some detail or pattern,
such as tassels or hounds tooth, as long as it is isex.
In this day and age it’s old fashioned to think that men and
women can only wear certain clothes. They are currently breaking out of their
stereotypical gender roles to wear whatever they feel comfortable in, and as
long as they find something that is flattering on them, they should be able to
do so without fear of ridicule.
